Do you find yourself urinating more often? Feeling persistently thirsty? Or, maybe you’re constantly tired? There’s a chance that these symptoms are being caused by Diabetes.

Diabetes occurs when your blood glucose level is too high, this can happen if you’re not producing any insulin at all (Type 1), or the insulin you’re producing isn’t working effectively or you’re not producing enough (Type 2). Both types can result in a number of different issues and it’s important to check as soon as you find symptoms starting to appear - this can be done from the comfort of your own home.

HbA1c or glycated haemoglobin is made when glucose (sugar) in your body sticks to your red blood cells. The % of Hemoglobin A1c refers to the amount of glycated hemoglobin in the blood. Glycated hemoglobin is red blood cells that have glucose attached to them. An A1c between 5.7-6.4% signals prediabetes. Type 2 diabetes is diagnosed when A1c is over 6.5%.
