When to collect your sample
We'll send you your home sample collection kit* with easy-to-follow instructions and video tutorials. The sample must be collected fasting in the morning on a Monday - Thursday and returned on the same day.
Fasting means that you collect your sample in the morning before you have breakfast. You can still drink water when fasting.
Always follow the advice of your doctor with regard to fasting, particularly if you have any medical conditions.
Healthy sperm counts have dropped by 50% in the last 40 years globally. Hormonal imbalances and reduced testosterone are becoming commonplace as leading concerns in modern male health.
Symptoms of hormonal imbalances may include:
Low energy or fatigue
Low sex drive or libido
Anxiety, depression or brain fog
Enlarged breast tissue
Loss of bone density
Hypopituitarism (Reduction of overall hormone production from the pituitary gland.)
Testosterone is a steroid hormone that plays a key role in the development of secondary sex characteristics, fertility, muscle strength, and bone health.
Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG)
Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) is made by your liver. SHBG transports and controls how much of these hormones are available for your body to use. SHBG levels that are too high or too low can be a sign that there are too many or too few hormones available for your body to use.
Free Androgen Index (FAI)
Free Androgen Index (FAI) is a ratio that is calculated by comparing the total amount of testosterone against the levels of SHBG. It can help indicate how much free testosterone is available for your body to use.
A small amount of testosterone is converted into oestradiol, the main form of estrogen in men. Oestradiol is a steroid hormone that helps control erectile function, libido, and sperm production. Oestradiol naturally increases as men age and as testosterone slowly decreases.
