The Female Hormone sample must be collected on Day 3 of your menstrual cycle to ensure accurate results. The third day of your menstrual cycle refers to the third day of blood flow during your period.
It is important that no hormonal contraceptives are being taken when you use the test, as the results of this test may be affected.
The sample must be collected before 10 am on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday and returned on the same day. It may be necessary to wait until day 3 of your cycle falls on one of these days.
*Results may be affected if you have an irregular menstrual cycle or if you have been taking hormonal contraceptives within the last three months.

Follicle Stimulating Hormone is responsible for stimulating the growth of egg-bearing follicles in your ovaries.

Luteinizing Hormone (LH)
Luteinizing Hormone is responsible for ovulation. It works in conjunction with follicle stimulating hormone to trigger the release of the egg.

Prolactin is a hormone made in your pituitary gland and is responsible for testosterone secretion and sperm production.

Oestradiol
A small amount of testosterone is converted intooestradiol, the main form of estrogen in men. Oestradiol is a steroid hormone that helps control erectile function, libido, and sperm production. Oestradiol naturally increases as men age and as testosterone slowly decreases.

Activating the test connects you to the unique alphanumeric barcode within your LetsGetChecked sample collection kit. The laboratory cannot process your sample if the test is not activated and linked to you. You should only activate your test when you are ready to take your sample.

Our nursing team is on standby throughout the testing process and, if your test results are abnormal, you will receive a call to discuss your results and next steps.
Please ensure that the sample is collected before 9am and returned immediately using the carrier method provided within the sample collection kit. Each of our health tests includes a prepaid delivery envelope to return your samples to the laboratory.
Please do not collect or return samples on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
